THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS EMPOWERMENT IS ACKNOWLEDGING THE EXISTENCE OF TRAUMA. SOCIETY OFTEN INVALIDATES THE EXPERIENCES OF BLACK WOMEN, CREATING A CULTURE OF SILENCE AND DENIAL. BY RECOGNIZING AND VALIDATING THEIR TRAUMA, BLACK WOMEN CAN START RECLAIMING THEIR NARRATIVES AND TAKING CONTROL OF THEIR HEALING JOURNEY.

Our Programs

TRAUMA SUPPORT GROUP

BLACK WOMAN WILL BLOOM  offers a safe and supportive, confidential space for women who have experienced trauma. It aims to reduce loneliness, distress, and anxiety while improving coping skills and empowerment. The group focuses on discussing struggles and providing empathy and support. Group coaching creates a unique community where stories and voices are shared and validated. It helps members address the impact of trauma on their relationships, life, and health. This is not a therapy group, but a community of female survivors sharing their experiences and healing together.

COMMUNITY TRAUMA RESPONSE

BLACK WOMAN WILL BLOOM is committed to partnering with the community to build a solid foundation for change and impact. They aim to provide safe spaces and resources for those who have experienced traumatic events. Traumatic events include threats to life, severe physical harm, witnessing death or injury, and accidentally causing harm to others. It is normal to have aftershocks following a traumatic event, and community support can be accessed by partnering with BLACK WOMAN WILL BLOOM.

Empowering Young Black Girls to Flourish: "School Program" FLOW TO FLOURISH

By offering representation and a dedicated community, these girls are given the tools to develop a sense of empowerment and belief in their own abilities. Through FLOW TO FLOURISH, they learn to identify their strengths and weaknesses, using these insights to become better leaders. Most importantly, they learn to support and encourage each other, creating a community of strong, confident young women.

Victim Support Services

Victim services for violence, assault, domestic abuse, trafficking, and rape play a pivotal role in empowering Black women as they navigate the challenging path towards healing and recovery. These resources not only offer a safe space for them to share their experiences but also provide crucial emotional and legal support. By accessing these services, Black women are given the tools and guidance to reclaim their strength and dignity in the face of adversity. It is through these avenues that they can find the necessary support to exercise their legal recourse and seek justice, ultimately reshaping their narratives from that of victims to survivors.

Trauma Informed Training

A program, organization, or system that is trauma-informed realizes the widespread impact of trauma and understands potential paths for recovery; recognizes the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients, families, staff, and others involved with the system; and responds by

fully integrating knowledge about trauma into policies, procedures, and practices, and seeks to actively resist re-traumatization."
